Robyn Pask
Robyn joined Interpreting New Zealand in June 2010. She has extensive management and leadership experience, both in government and the private sector. While in her previous role with the Department of Labour, she worked closely with representatives from migrant and refugee communities and other government and non-government agencies involved in migrant and refugee settlement in New Zealand. She has a Bachelor of Education (Adult Education) and has been very actively involved in workplace training for a number of years, including two years managing a team of trainers across the Asia-Pacific region within a multi-national company.
The quality of Interpreting NZ’s service is second to none, and the office team, the trainers, and the interpreters are focused on making sure it stays that way. Contact Robyn if you have any questions or concerns about the quality of your interpreting experience, or the organisation in general.

Training Manager
Peter McLellan
Peter joined Interpreting New Zealand in March 2020 at the start of the Covid 19 lockdown. He has a varied background giving him extensive experience in managing people, improving processes and implementing new systems in both the private and public sectors.
Peter has a strong sense of community and finds motivation in working within organisations that have a strong community involvement.
His focus is to ensure we continue to deliver quality Interpreting services through our highly trained and passionate team.

Training Manager
Erwin LaCruz
Erwin has over 18 years of training experience, having taught at universities in New Zealand and Venezuela. He has been working for INZ since 2010. Before join Interpreting New Zealand, he worked as a lecturer in linguistics and as a translator and interpreter at the School of Modern Languages of the University of Los Andes, Venezuela.
His interest in languages is reflected in a solid academic background. He completed a PhD in Linguistics at Victoria University Wellington. He holds an MA in Phonetics from University College London, and a BA in Spanish and English literatures with a specialisation in translation from the University of Los Andes Venezuela. As a trainer, Erwin, integrates theoretical aspects of language and interpreting into a practical hands on approach to community interpreting.
Training Officer
Inna Palmer
Inna is a graduate of St.Petersburg University (Russia), majoring in English language and literature. She started her interpreting career during Moscow Olympic Games and worked as a translator and interpreter for various private businesses in Russia. She has 15 years of experience in teaching English and school administration. Inna settled in New Zealand in 1999 with her Kiwi husband Ross and their daughter Olga. For over ten years she has been working with families who have children adopted from Russia. She also worked as an ESOL teacher for nearly four years. Inna joined Interpreting New Zealand in 2007, received NAATI accreditation in 2008 and since September 2009 is a part-time Training Officer
Senior Office Administrator
Jennifer
Jennifer is from Taiwan. She has a BA in Japanese from Victoria University and is the senior office administrator at Interpreting New Zealand. She carries out a full range of administrative tasks. One of her main responsibilities is processing timesheets for the interpreters' fortnightly payments. Jennifer is also an after-hours coordinators.

Mariko
Originally from Tokyo, Japan. Mariko has been living in Wellington since 2000. She began working as a Japanese interpreter with Interpreting New Zealand in 2011 and had come on as a booking coordinator in 2015.

Canterbury Coordinator
Maria
Originally from Rome, Maria has been living in Christchurch for half of her life.
She is the Canterbury coordinator for Interpreting NZ and Italian interpreter.
In her role as coordinator, she is closely involved with the selection process of new interpreters, their ongoing professional development, while also representing Interpreting New Zealand at various forums/stakeholder groups and presenting our services to existing and potential clients.

Nelson Coordinator
Sanam
Sanam came to NZ from Pakistan where she worked for a number of years for multinational companies including GlaxoSmithKline and Barclays Bank. Her work experience there was primarily in customer service, financial assistance and human resources. She knows four languages, and interprets between Urdu and English.

Dunedin Coordinator
Xuan
Born and raised in mainland China, Xuan obtained a BA in Japanese Language from Guangxi University before coming to New Zealand. She completed an MA in Professional Studies in Translation at Auckland University in 2009 and became a full member of New Zealand Society of Translators and Interpreters (NZSTI) as a translator. More recently she joined INZ as a Mandarin interpreter and later took on the role of Dunedin Coordinator.

Finance Administrator
Gean
Gean is from (Boracay Island) - in The Philippines she arrived in New Zealand in 1987 and has been working for Interpreting New Zealand since 2008. Gean is married to Tom with three adult children a grandmother for the first time a (grandson). Gean handles the finance including payroll for the staff and interpreters.

Leo
Leo is one of the only non-bilingual speakers in the office. He has a passion for working in the non-profit sector and prior to arriving in New Zealand in 2007, he worked for 12 years with Canadian Blood Services.
A self-taught database administrator, Leo came on to Interpreting New Zealand to design and maintain their Interpreter Management System.
